Why Cornhole Tops the Chart of Family Reunion Games

Family reunions are special occasions that are often to be remembered for years to come.  It's important for reunion planners to plan great activities to ensure the festivities are enjoyable and memorable.  It can be a hard task to find activities that are suitable for the variety of attendees.  Some attendees will likely have physical limitations such as the inability to run and jump, so the activities should not require a great deal of physical mobility.

Cornhole is a great game for family reunions because it is one that is ideal for a wide range of ages.  The exciting game of cornhole does not require running and jumping.  As long as one has got a decent throwing arm you can play.

Don't believe me?  Just watch the following video of the Auvil family having a ball at their family reunion.  Pay attention to what one spectator says towards the end of the video and you will be a believer that anyone can compete in this game against anyone of any age.

Cornhole, also known as bean bag toss or tailgate toss, requires a set of cornhole boards.  Cornhole boards come insets of two and are rectangular with a 6" hole.  Each board is angled in such a way that it looks like a ramp.  The boards are placed on opposite ends of each other (a minimum of 10 ft away) and each player takes turns attempting to toss a set of 4 bags each into the hole of the board on the opposite end.  The American Cornhole Association (ACA) offers the specifics of regulation scoring guidelines, but the simple object of the game is to land more bags down the hole than your competitors.

ACA regulation cornhole boards are bigger and are ideal for outdoor competition; making those the best for outdoor family reunions; however smaller tabletop versions are perfect for indoor playing and also make great little trophies, prizes or gifts for the kids.  You will find a variety of cornhole board themes on the market, but you can also have custom cornhole boards made.   Having custom boards made with the family name and year of the reunion is a common practice.  Custom boards will take anywhere from 1-3 weeks, so you should order them well in advance if you intend to have custom sets made for your family reunion.

Cornhole is a surefire way to make sure everyone has a blast at your cornhole reunion.  No one gets left out because its a game young and old can play and does not require a great deal of physical ability or skills.  Toddlers and Seniors can join in on the fun because it is a game that is made for everyone of walking age and with reasonable motor skills.  Make cornhole the main event of your family reunion and it will be an event to remember.
